National railway Iarnród Éireann is set to be benefit from an additional €60m which the government has allocated to the Ministry of Transport, Tourism & Sport’s public transport budget for 2015. The aim is to catch up with the backlog of work which resulted from country’s recession.
Railway station modernisation and construction works worth HUF 15 billion (EUR 48.4 million) will be carried out in Hungary between 2014-2020.
Hungarian State Railways (MÃV) plans to invest over EUR 13.8 million until 2017 in modernizing and building new railway stations and stops.
