Slovenian Railways are preparing „last mile“ service

Slovenia’s state railway company, Slovenian Railways (SZ), is preparing to collaborate with business partners Petrol and MOL expansion of the range of services with ‘last-mile’ offers such as car-sharing, electric taxis and electric bicycles. Riga station rebuild to offer ‘moments of great wonder’

Danish architectural firm PLH and engineering partner Cowi have won an international competition to design the rebuilding of Riga’s Centrālā station into multimodal transport hub and the provision of a bridge over the River Daugava as part of the Rail Baltica project.

Procurement for the station project is scheduled to begin in early 2018, with construction expected to be underway by 2022.
