Bulgarian State Railways is holding talks with the Romanian and the Hungarian railways to launch a direct train from Sofia to Budapest over Danube Bridge 2.
Polish locomotive manufacturer Newag Gliwice and Croatian company Äuro Äaković Specijalna Vozila, company part of Äuro Äaković Holding, signed a cooperation agreement for the joint manufacturing of a four-axle single-system electric locomotive E4ACU Griffin.
The agreement specifies a long-term cooperation including technology transfer and sharing  of expertise and know-how  in the production of electric locomotives.
Experts from RZD International LLC, a subsidiary of Russian Railways which implements infrastructure projects abroad on behalf of the RZD holding company, and the Serbian Project Institute have began surveying the damage to Serbia’s transport infrastructure caused during the severe floods recently.
Experts have already identified 700 active landslides, and more than 20 national and hundreds of municipal railway lines have been damaged.
