New electrical buses presented in Koprivnica
On July the 16th, new electrical buses were presented in Koprivnica, in Croatia. The Koprivnica buses will be the example of the first Zero CO2 emission public transport in the Republic of Croatia.
The city of Koprivnica had acquired the new buses as a part of the Civitas Dyn@amo EU project, which is the biggest and the most demanding project the city was involved with. The aim of the project is to develop sustainable and efficient urban mobility with the emphasis on electro mobility. Besides Koprivnica the partner cities are in the project are: Aachen, Palma de Mallocra and Gdynia. The overall worth of the project is around 13,1 million Euros and the co-financing from the EU is 8,5 million. The Koprivnica’s budget is 920.000 Euros with and EU is co-financing with 556.221 Euros.
Electrical buses are acquired as a part of the measure K 2.2 – Low CO2 emission public transport. This system will be integrated with other regional public transport systems and it will be the first of its kind in the cities of the similar size in the region. In realisation of the measure ÄŒazmatrans – Nova Ltd, regional bus operator, was involved. They are a local partner and they what to improve the public transport services in Koprivnica. The measure is being implemented in accordance with “The plan of public transport implementation in the city of Koprivnica” produced by PrometPlus company Ltd from Zagreb.
Electrical mini buses are purchased from the DOK-ING company from Zagreb, Croatia. The buses can carry up to 12 passengers with the range autonomy from 90 to 130 kilometres. The power of the electrical engines is 100 kW which is quite enough to reach the maximum electronically limited speed of 90 km/h.

The speakers on the presentation were: Vesna Želježnjak, major of Koprivnica, Helena Hećimović, leader of dissemination activities in the project, Vjekoslav Majetić, director of DOK-ING, Dragan Marinović, president of the board of Čazmatrans-Nova and Ivan Šimunec, board member and CEO of PrometPlus. After the presentations all the guest had a chance to ride in the new buses during short presentation rides.
