According to the Railway Pro portal, in the next six years, about EUR 14.6 billion will be invested to expand rail infrastructure in Austria. In addition to investments into the major rail corridors and cargo terminals, also new railcars for local transport will be acquired. Moreover, from 2016 new locomotives for freight transport will be acquired.

Two workshops were held in Bruxelles and one in Madrid during January. In these workshop experts gave their opinios on visions and the ways to achieve them regarding the Railway system evolution, Policies, Spatial Concepts and Urban Design and European Experiences on Rail Transport Market Regulation. Project will continue with the upcoming workshops regarding the Sustainable Europe and the railway systems inside until the year 2050.
Representatives of  Bosnia & Herzegovina Railway and Railway of Republika Srpska discussed the possibility of joint-service offering with Serbian Railways, in order to come to the transport market with a competitive price offer.
