Maja Bakran Marcich – Deputy Director of DG MOVE

Bruxelles 28. September 2016. – Last week the European Commission has appointed Maja Bakran Maricic deputy general director of DG MOVE (DG Mobility and Transport). She will take the office on 1. December 2016. Ms. Bakran Marcich will be the highest ranking croatian official in a body of the European Commission. In to her new position she brings her vast experience from working in the bodies of the European Commission.

Ms. Bakran Marcich worked as a counselor deputy to the prime minister and the first Croatian Minister of European Integration (1998th-1999th). From 1999 to 2005 she was Secretary of State in the ministry. From 2005 to 2011 she was the coordinator for the accession negotiations with Croatia mission in Bruxelles. She returns to Zagreb in 2011 to the position of advisor of Deputy Prime Minister and advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration. Currently she is the advisor of the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs.
