Agreement on the modernization of railway infrastructure signed between Czech Republic and Austria

Czech Transport Minister Dan Ťok and his Austrian counterpart Alois Stöger have signed an agreement on the modernization of railway infrastructure.

Construction of Koper – Divaca second railway track could be financed via Public-Private Partnership

The Slovenian government coalition partners have discussed the possibility of financing the construction of Koper – Divača second railway track under a public-private partnership (PPP). The Minister of Infrastructure, Peter Gašperšič said that the government is looking into different options for a public-private partnership, including concession, which would allow the construction of the EUR 1,4 billion estimated project. These options will be reviewed this year.

Hungary: GySEV implements EUR 20 million central traffic control system

Austrian-Hungarian joint venture, GySEV Zrt is investing HUF 6.9 bn (EUR 20 million) in expanding the central traffic control system (KÖFI) to Rajka-Szombathely and Szombathely-Zalaszentiván railway sections and in establishing a new control center at Csorna, Szombathely.

Estonia: EUR 12.8 million for improving multimodal connectivity at railway stations

The Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications announced that an amount of EUR 12.8 million from EU’s Cohesion Fund will be allocated for improving multimodal connectivity at railway stations. The call for proposals will be opening next month.
