Transnet: 1064 new locomotives. Bombardier delivers 240 units as Traxx Africa

The Bombardier Traxx family will get a distant family member in South-Africa. South-African operator Transnet has ordered 1064 new locomotives from Bombardier, CSR Zhouzhou (electrics) and GE, CNR (diesel locomotives).

Rebuilt Rotterdam Centraal station opens

The station has been rebuilt to cope with predicted growth from the current 110 000 passengers/day – as many people as use Amsterdam Schiphol airport – to 323 000 passengers/ day by 2025. Škoda Transportation launched new “catenary-free” tram solution

Škoda Transportation successfully completed, all tests and certification of its  “catenary-free” tram in January of this year and the tram was put in operation during the month of February at its facility in Plzen.  This advanced technological solution called “CATFREE” drive, makes it possible for vehicles to move and operate independent of the catenary-based traction power.
