Los Angeles buys Electric Vehicles

Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti announced the lease of 160 battery electric vehicles and 128 plug-in hybrids for the city’s vehicle fleet.

New offers for Dugo Selo – Križevci

HŽ Infrastruktura organized a public opening of bids that arrived as part of a public procurement procedure for the works on reconstruction of existing and construction of the second track of the railway line Dugo Selo – Križevci. It is a strategic project of public importance for the Republic of Croatia and so far the largest rail infrastructure project co-financed by the EU.

PKP Intercity Flirt presented

The first of 20 Flirt 3 electric multiple-units being supplied to PKP Intercity by a Stadler-Newag consortium has been presented to the public at Katowice station, following the completion of testing at the Railway Institute in July.

The units were ordered in 2013 under a contract valued at 1·156bn złoty, plus a further 465m złoty for 15 years of maintenance. The order is being 70% co-financed by the EU.

China opens northernmost high-speed line

China launched passenger services on its most northerly high-speed line on August 17 with the start of commercial operations on the Harbin – Qiqihar line in Heilongjiang province.
